Marvel unveiled December’s Stormbreakers variant covers, featuring comic characters celebrating the New Year.
The Stormbreakers class is made up of artists Marvel considers to be the best up-and-coming artists in the comic book industry, and each month the Stormbreakers release special variant covers to showcase their skills. Eight variants will be released throughout December and showcase characters ringing in the New Year in their own way, including Ghost Rider donning festive 2024 glasses, Emma Frost and Iron Man kissing at the stroke of midnight and Daredevil and Elektra toasting the New Year among others. The first cover, for Invincible Iron Man #13 goes on sale Dec. 6.

Marvel’s 2023 Stormbreakers Highlight Up-and-Coming Talents
Marvel’s Stormbreakers began in 2020 as a continuation of the publisher’s Young Guns program. The yearly Stormbreakers classes put a spotlight on some of the best up-and-coming artists in the comic book industry. 2023’s class of artists come from around the world, with illustrators from Italy, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Uruguay, Brazil, and the USA all taking part.
The publisher has selected 36 artists over the past 15 years through both the Young Guns and Stormbreakers programs. Artists including Steve McNiven, Jim Cheung, Sara Pichelli, and Ryan Stegman have taken part in the past, working to illustrate some of Marvel’s greatest events and iconic series.
Marvel’s latest Stormbreakers Variant Covers will be available throughout the month of December.
